It’s easy to become jaded and to take life for granted, but a recent video that shows a color-blind fireman’s reaction when he sees the brilliant colors of the American flag for the first time puts everything into perspective.
A video uploaded to Facebook shows Spencer Caradine, 21, tearing up after his friends surprised him with special glasses that enabled him to see the colors of the flag.
It’s an incredibly moving moment brought about by his friends’ generosity.
“I've seen the videos but, today, I got to experience it first hand. One of my best friends has never seen what the world really looks like until today,” a man named Jordan Gardner wrote in a Facebook description. “Spencer always said the first thing he wanted to see in color was the American flag so....we made it happen.”

Gardner said the group of friends isn’t particularly emotional, but that seeing Caradine’s reaction after using
They surprised Caradine on July 3 — just before Independence Day.
"It was insane. It was crazy. It blew my mind,” Caradine told WSB-TV. "It was so much different from what I've ever seen. It was more beautiful."
