Singer Justin Bieber Breaks Down Jesus' 'Free Gift' For Us All

Singer Justin Bieber recently offered a powerful message about his Christian faith, telling Apple Music host Zane Lowe that he isn't "trying to earn God's love" with acts of goodness — and that Jesus has given every person a "free gift."

"The way I look at my relationship with God and with Jesus is, I’m not trying to earn God’s love by doing good things," Bieber said, according to Faithwire. "God has already loved me for who I am, before I did anything to earn and deserve it. It’s a free gift by accepting Jesus, and just giving your life to Him."

The singer went on to say that Christ gave him the gift of forgiveness and that he worships him because of that biblical fact.

Bieber also shared details about his upbringing, his past struggles and his path from personal chaos into a deeper and more fulfilling faith.

In the end, the singer said he has learned a powerful lesson about Jesus: God "accepts us for who we are, and loves us through our pain and through our dirt." Read more about the interview over at Faithwire.
