Christian performers don't generally get any time on the main stage at the Grammy Awards, nor are they given screen time during the televised show, yet their wins shed light on the popularity of worship music and are worth exploring.

One of the most noteworthy wins during Sunday night's show was "There Was Jesus," a collaboration between singer Zach Williams and country legend Dolly Parton.

The duo beat out Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes and Elevation Worship ("The Blessing"), Lecrae and Kirk Franklin ("Sunday Morning"), We the Kingdom ("Holy Water") and Tauren Wells and Jenn Johnson ("Famous For (I Believe)") in the "Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song" category.

And Williams and Parton weren't the only winners (here's the full 2021 nominee list) in Christian and gospel categories. Kanye West won in the "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album" category for his "Jesus Is King" album.

Additionally, Jonathan McReynolds and Mali Music won for "Best Gospel Performance/Song" and PJ Morton won for "Gospel According to PJ." in the "Best Gospel Album" category.
